happy epic universe opening day 💫

I remember being on a road trip to orlando the day the park was first announced. I had just graduated high school, was getting ready to start college a month later, and so excited for a getaway to my favorite place. my family drove by what was then just an empty lot of land where the park would one day stand.

on my most recent trip in December, then getting ready to start grad school a month later, my family drove by the same plot again. except this time, I saw the top of grand helios for the first time, the backside of the manor, and my first peek into the park from the perimeter road.

it’s been so exciting watching epic universe take shape these last five years. seeing the footage from the opening ceremonies and remembering the first drive by knowing what it would become has been a much-needed reminder of how fast things can change, and how some of the most incredible potential can come from seemingly nothing.

I genuinely cannot wait to pass under the portal for the first time and explore the five worlds I’ve been waiting to experience for so long. but for now, here’s a few pictures from when the portal came to my home (and one of the times I was an absolute nerd at the preview center)

one of my favorite day trips is to Hershey, PA! I love stopping into @hersheyschocolateworld for a snack and a stroll. it’s even better when I’m able to snag a reservation for the chocolatier (full experience recap on my blog!)
