On my last trip to Islands of Adventure at Universal Orlando Resort, I finally got to try the famous Mythos Restaurant! I had passed it for years growing up. Honestly, it’s not a hard place to miss- the structure itself is a centerpiece of the Lost Continent skyline and can be seen from all around the central lagoon. Yet, I’ve never tried it- well, until just a couple weeks ago. I have to say it was such an incredible experience, and I’m hoping to return soon!
Truthfully, my family didn’t originally intend to eat at Mythos. We were trying to figure out somewhere different we could eat at either Islands of Adventure or CityWalk since we didn’t get park-to-park tickets, and were originally thinking about going to Toothsome Chocolate Emporium since we’ve eaten there before and my entire family loves their sweets! Unfortunately, they were totally booked up, so we revisited the drawing board. I had heard some good things about Mythos from some fellow content creators recently, and the restaurant had won Best Theme Park Restaurant for as long as I could remember. So, my family made a reservation a couple days before we left and decided to go for it and try it!
The reservation process at Universal Orlando is super simple. You don’t need to provide a credit card when making it, so there’s no cancellation fee (a great reassurance in an ever-changing world). Once you show up to the restaurant, you get checked in and wait for your table to be ready. My family only waited less than five minutes before getting seated. The lobby is pretty, but once you make it into the restaurant itself, your breath is taken away. The interior is beyond gorgeous- there’s a small waterfall in the middle of the restaurant, huge windows with stunning views of the rest of the park, and seating to make you feel like royalty.
The menu itself has quite a few options. I’m a pasta lover, so I ordered the Spinach and Ricotta Ravioli (it comes with pesto sauce, too). Since I’m partially Italian and grew up eating true Italian recipes with ingredients from Arthur Ave. in the Bronx, I can be kind of picky when it comes to my pasta and sauces. The dish I ordered was perfect, and was a pretty fairly sized portion. I also had a bite of my mom’s burger. I’m not always a burger fan, but the bite I had was juicy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. Everything that came out of the kitchen looked amazing, too!
If you’re looking for a unique dining experience while at Universal Orlando Resort, I highly recommend Mythos Restaurant at Islands of Adventure! With scenic views and mouthwatering eats, it’s a perfect meal for both locals and tourists alike.
Have you ever been to Mythos? What did you think of it?
Have a terrific day!
