National Honor Society Induction and Awards Ceremony

High school is almost over for me. With just about a month left, it seems like we’re trying to cram all the fun in before we graduate. Thursday the sixteenth, I attended my final National Honor Society Induction and Academic Awards Ceremony. It was certainly a bittersweet moment for me, so I hope you’ll enjoy hearing a little bit about the night.

Every year around mid-May, my school inducts students into the National Honor Society and presents Academic Awards at an evening event in our auditorium. I had been fortunate enough to receive awards and be inducted into NHS every year. I take a lot of pride in my school work, so to be recognized for all of the hard work I put in all year long meant a lot to me. For as long as I had participated in the ceremony, I had always looked up to the graduating members and couldn’t wait to be in their position where I could truly participate in the candle lighting ceremony. As luck should have it, I was named Valedictorian of my class, which allowed me to be the Master of Ceremonies for the NHS half of the night.

For the Academic Awards half of the night, each of the awards was presented by the respective department chair, or by the principal of my school. That night, I was presented with Academic Excellence in AP Literature and AP Government, as well as a Principal’s List award and an award from the NYS Board of Regents. I am incredibly thankful for all of the recognition I received this evening, as I always work extremely hard and I was so happy to see it have such a positive result, and share such a special moment with the friends I’ve known for as long as I can remember.

To move on from the sentimental stuff, let’s talk about my outfit of the evening! One of my good friends had outgrown this beautiful dress, and had given it to me since she thought I would like it (which I absolutely did). I had originally planned on wearing a simpler Lilly dress, but once I found out that I would be Master of Ceremonies, I definitely wanted to dress a little fancier, so I brought this dress out, and I’m so glad I did. It was absolutely stunning, and all my friends and teachers told me I looked like a Disney Princess (and I most certainly felt like one that night). With the classic style of heel I had from DSW, and a sparkly headband and earrings from Francesca’s Boutique, I felt as if I was ready for some magical moments. It photographed and moved so well, and I got some amazing pictures from it.

I haven’t really shared much of my true personal life on my blog yet, but I hope you guys enjoyed it! I will also be putting up a vlog of my whole day very soon! In the meantime, be sure to subscribe to my blog and YouTube channel, and follow along on social media!

See ya real soon,
